Cognitive Electrophysiology (Elective- 2 credits)

Offered in MSc Clinical Psychology program (Second year)

Years active- 2020 to 2023

Batches- 2 (2020/21, 2022/2023)

The elective on 'Cognitive Electrophysiology' was open to MPCL 2nd year students, and a total of 6 and 12 students completed the paper in the two batches. The objective of the course was to provide an introduction of the neurophysiology of the brain with focus on the Event-Related Potential (ERP) technique. The classes consisted of lectures, lab demonstrations, group work and study of research articles. The students  learnt about building experiments on E-Prime 2.0, collecting data using Net Station, and also analyzing ERP data using EEGLAB/ERPLAB. The students also completed a research project by developing their own experiments, collecting data and presenting their findings in a classroom seminar.

Lab Practicum

Offered in MSc Neuropsychology program(Second year)

Years active- 2022 to present

Batches- 4 (2022/23, 2023/2024; 2024/25, 2025/26)

The Lab Practicum is a part of the MSc Neuropsychology program (2nd year) and it is currently in its fourth year. Students in batches of 10-12 attend the Lab Practicum for two to four hours per week at the NeuroCognition Laboratory. In this course, students are introduced to the EEG and Eye tracking techniques for which they learn how to design research experiments, collect data and analyze the data. Through demonstrations, study resources and hands-on training, students learn a variety of research procedures and tools relevant to EEG and Eye Tracking. As part of the course, the students are also required to design their own EEG and/or Eye tracking experiments and collect data.
